In his childhood days, he was a nightmare for goalkeepers in the famous Top Cup tournament, and in 2009, at the age of just 17, he scored 3 goals in his first international match for Coton Sport of Garoua. He had just returned from a trial in Europe and despite the jet lag, he travelled with Coton Sport to drop a masterclass against Manga Sports.
On his D-day when scouts from French club Valenciennes came to watch him in a match opposing Coton Sport to Fovu de Baham, Vincent Aboubakar scored a quadruple (4 goals) in front of his August guests.
It is also worth respecting the fact that he left the Cameroonian league to directly integrate a top-flight club in France in 2010 – a feat not many can boast of due to the disparity between both contexts.
Vincent Aboubakar was also the youngest player for Cameroon at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
