Poverty! Hardship! Greed!

My country is sierra Leone which can be found in the west coast of Africa. Contemplating in what the future holds for our generation is far from fetch. In my perfect mood going through the street of Freetown in finding what really life is for the ordinary man.

However, the pictures I see normally say it all that people are in mass poverty!
Many a time I firstly asks myself were are the INGO, NGO, and the Government? First and foremost I want to start by addressing the International Non Governmental Organization. Sierra Leone situation is different to other countries. In Sierra Leone when and international Non Governmental Organization come to  roll out their program or project the first impression they will make to us is  the Aid one.
Firstly, our government has made us to see NGOs as aiders to our communities, that is why their jobs and project is been widely overlooked. I want to say if the projects of NGOs were highly monitors and implemented the Diverstated life of the masses should have improve if not better.
Secondly, I also want to say we are in confused state. The reason is so simple. In sierra Leone today you would find organizations with the same aims and objectives in one community embarking in similar projects. It is so saddened that our society has lost it priorities...for the simple fact how two or more organisations will engage in bore hole water for just a single community.

However, if you checked those communities you would realised that  there is more than meet the eyes.
Still today in my country Sierra Leone, which is just 72sq miles in size. Still there are communities were children work more than 8miles just to get to school.
In the side of the government, institutions are there to make changes happen. But this is not the case. Institution like National Commission for social Action(NCSA).

This is one organization set up by the government of sierra Leone after the eleven years gruesome civil war that claimed hundreds of thousands of peoples life, making some people to be displaced others amputated. There role was in like with helping people with finances that will make them self empowered or self reliance.  This is not the case, as to the look of things from a perspective of unity freedom and justice. More and more people are getting poor each and every time.

To understand this subject, I want to firstly say corruption greed and the winners takes it all syndrome has keeping us in this bruhaha. In a situation were and NGOs have written a funding proposal to implement a project in certain communities, the on us is left to the government to monitor such projects in other not to have a duplicate of that project. In the other hand, if the government itself doesn't have proper monitoring systems how and which strategy he will used to monitor the NGOs?

In a state were authorities are been seen as demigods, the ensence and validity of civil societies is useless. I always say to myself how can a politician send his entire families out and expect better performance from she/he?
This is a clear evidence that things are not getting better that easily or better say the prosperity we are yearning for is not forthcoming.

However, if there family are in the country they would feel for the general populace in their day to day decision making. It is simple we they are at there homes with there family eating then one amongst them must say! Dad, Mom, it is possible that someone, somewhere is going to bed hungry today. With such they would have a focus of taking the lead to act as leaders, especially in thinking of what the future holds for the Masses.

However, when they are about to take decision they would think of the best possible one that would benefit them and the general populace, in other for prosperity not to hunt them when they would have been out of power.
As it stands, the decision they are making is the one that would benefit them, the elite.

Everywhere in Sierra Leone today people are still complaining of not having the basic necessity of life. Clean drinking water, affordable housings condition, electricity, good roads and food. If sierra wants to move forward we must implement programs that would benefit all, rather than the elite or political parties pikin. Lonta!
