A 2-day CSO and Media Retreat organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications on the theme "CONSOLIDATING DEMOCRACY: OUR COLLECTIVE, SHARED AND PATRIOTIC RESPONSIBILITY"

Civil Society Organisations And Journalists Scrutinise Government Programmes In Kenema By: Zacharia Jalloh, Strategic Communications Unit, Ministry of Information and Communications A 2-day CSO and Media Retreat organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications on the theme "CONSOLIDATING DEMOCRACY: OUR COLLECTIVE, SHARED AND PATRIOTIC RESPONSIBILITY" has ended on a high note in Kenema City. The retreat, which was the third in a series, was held on the 25th-26th November 2022, at the Kenema City Hall. Over 250 participants from across Sierra Leone were in attendance. Officially declaring the sessions open on Friday 25th November, the Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Juldeh Jalloh, commended the Ministry of Information and Communications for what he referred to as a wonderful initiative. Nigeria's Lagos shortlists Mota-Engil, Chinese ventures for $2.5 bln bridge

  LAGOS, Nov 27 (Reuters) - A consortium led by Portugal's builder Mota-Engil and two Chinese ventures has been shortlisted by Nigeria's Lagos state to build a $2.5 billion bridge that is expected to relieve severe congestion in the mega city, an official said on Sunday. The 37 kilometre Fourth Mainland Bridge, will be built under a public-private partnership. It will include three toll plazas, nine interchanges and a design speed of 120 kilometres per hour, said Jubril Gawat, a senior spokesperson for the Lagos state governor. Mota-Engil is partnering with China Communication and Construction Corporation and China Road and Bridge Corporation in the bid. China Gezhouba Group Company and China Geo-Engineering Corporation joint venture and a consortium led by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation are the two other shortlisted bidders. The winner of the bid will be announced before the end of the year, said Gawat.
